Hello my name is Mark Radford

Our nurses are our key asset. By joining our team of more than 3,000 nurses who each have a passion and commitment to delivering outstanding care to all patients, every time, all the time, you will gain the skills, education and support needed to be a world class nurse.

Mark Radford, Chief Nursing Office

"I think that being a nurse is one of the most privileged professions in the world.  You train to give care to patients and support their families at some of the most difficult points in their lives.  From serious injury and cancer treatment to dealing with bereavement and teaching people to manage long term conditions... a nurse can do all of this and more.   There are few careers that at the end of a shift you can really say that you make a direct difference to the lives of an individual".

You are joining a team of over 3000 nurses who have the passion and commitment to deliver outstanding care to the patients of our local community and beyond.  They care for patients in the most specialist and challenging areas of clinical practice and improve the lives of many, many people.

We also provide a careers development service for nursing staff who may want to explore other specialities and career opportunities. There are outstanding opportunities for nurses at UHCW, from working in a range of clinical specialists not found in many other hospitals, development opportunities to take forward their career in advanced practice, research, leadership and other practice areas.  As a newly qualified nurse, we provide you with support and mentorship to guide you through those first early months in practice.

We also offer secondment and shadowing opportunities, supported by our dedicated Practice Facilitators. All of our nurses are actively involved in developing good practice, decision making, research and innovation.

I have always said to our team of nurses, that I believe they give outstanding care to patients and support for their families and we are always looking to find the very best of nurses to work with our team.
