Haematology and Oncology Departments

The haematology ward provides 17 beds for patients with malignancies such as leukaemia and lymphoma. A Level 3 Centre, we perform all of the regional autologous bone marrow transplants. We also provide care for disorders such as sickle cell, thalassaemia traits and bleeding disorders such as haemophilia.

The oncology ward consists of 30 beds. We treat patients in both curative and palliative stages of cancer. We deliver treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and manage complex symptoms resulting from treatments or disease.

The Arden Centre provides complex treatment chemotherapy regimens for our oncology patients. The suite works in close partnership with radiotherapy for those patients receiving combined treatments.

Nurses at University Hospital, Coventry, and the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby, have contributed to a prestigious new manual for trainee and practising nurses.
