The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics provides consistent, appropriate, and up to date advice on nutrition and dietetic treatment to patients (and/or carers), medical and nursing staff, health care professionals, and the public; either directly or indirectly. We  aim to enable individuals to achieve their optimal nutritional status by treating, preventing, or controlling disease and promoting health.

Registered Dietitians work with in- and out- patients and there are specialists in the following areas for advice:

  • Diabetes
  • Obesity
  • Renal
  • Cancer care (Macmillan dietitians)
  • Paediatrics (acute & community)
  • Learning disabilities
  • Home enteral feeding

The Trust has excellent opportunities for newly qualified Dietitians to gain experience in a large acute teaching Trust, working with in-patients and out-patients from various specialties including general medicine and surgery.
